Becoming a Registered Group Training Organisation in South Australia​​

Group Training Organisations (GTO) employ many apprentices and trainees, arrange their off-job training and pay their wages. For on-job training, GTOs place their apprentices and trainees with host employers.

Benefits of being a Registered GTO

As a Registered GTO in South Australia, you can:

  • promote yourselves as a quality group training organisation assessed against the National Standards for Group Training Organisations
  • use the National Group Training Organisation logo
  • promote your organistaion on Commonwealth and State government websites
  • apply for South Australian Government funding for programs available to National Standards Registered GTO.

To become a Registered GTO in South Australia, you must:

  1. consider the National Standards for GTOs Registration Guide South Australia
  2. conduct a self-assessment of your organisation's systems, processes and services against the National Standards
  3. complete and submit the GTO Application Form (we will organise an initial meeting with you to further explain registration requirements and the next steps).
  4. complete and submit the National Standards for GTOs Compliance Report Audit Template and provide the supporting evidence identified in the application form and self-assessment
  5. participate in our compliance audit. This involves a review your self-assessment through a desktop audit, site visit, and possible interviews with apprentices/trainees and host employers.
