Sometimes there is a need to change employers while a training contract is under way. This might be due to a change of ownership or a change to a new employer.
To transfer to a new employer
Complete the transfer of a training contract to a new employer form (PDF). This change requires the signatures of both the apprentice or trainee and the new and old employer. TAS must be notified by both the new employer and former employer of the change within 21 days.
TAS will write to you to confirm the transfer to a new employer provided there is no break in service between employers.
Business ownership changes
TAS must be notified of the change of business ownership within 21 days of it occurring. If your business has a change of ownership complete the change of ownership of a business form (PDF) and send it back to TAS following the instructions on the form.
TAS will write to you to confirm the change of business ownership.
Note, the new employer must be registered with TAS. If the new employer is not registered, visit employer registration.
