Disability Workforce Hub

Connecting people, skills and jobs in the disability sector.

The Disability Workforce Hub connects jobseekers with local employers, training providers and employment agencies to help fill local job opportunities in the growing disability sector.

This northern Adelaide service supports the state’s transition to the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and will help to meet the workforce needs and opportunities that it will bring.

Launched in November 2016, the hub is co-located with not-for-profit organisation Northern Futures in Elizabeth.

Initiatives coordinated through the Disability Workforce Hub

Industry-specific Jobs First Employment Projects

Funding is available to deliver Jobs First Employment Projects (JFEP) to support the rollout of the NDIS.

These projects will be specifically aimed at meeting the needs of disability sector employers who have identified job opportunities, and may include projects for:

  • personal support workers
  • allied health professionals
  • client service delivery
  • administrative roles.

For more information see the JFEP guidelines and brief.

Additional Career Services

The hub delivers career services that specifically promote disability sector training and employment opportunities.

Jobseekers will be assisted to develop individual career plans and be helped to fill identified vacancies within the sector.

Support of the higher education sector

The State Government has linked with higher education providers to support current and expected demand through the NDIS.

Flinders University and the University of South Australia will deliver clinical placements in disciplines including Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology to service the needs of the community and prepare students for careers in the growing disability industry.
