Aboriginal Apprenticeship Program

The Aboriginal Apprenticeship Program provides incentives for private sector employers to employ Aboriginal people into trade-based apprenticeships.

Intensive support is provided to participants for the duration of the apprenticeship.
Available subsidies:

4 Year Apprenticeship - $8,000
1st Year: $3,000 (no GST) - $1,500 paid in 26 week instalments
2nd Year: $3,000 (no GST) - $1,500 paid in 26 week instalments
3rd Year: $2,000 (no GST) - $1,000 paid in 26 week instalments
4th Year: no subsidy.

3 Year Traineeship - $6,000
1st Year: $3,000 (no GST) - $1,500 paid in 26 week instalments
2nd Year: $3,000 (no GST) - $1,500 paid in 26 week instalments
3rd Year: no subsidy.

School-based Apprenticeship - $1,000 (no GST) paid on commencement of the training contract.
