Education aides

Education aides perform non-teaching duties to assist teaching staff in schools, and provide care and supervision for children in preschools.

What do education aides do?

  • prepare, demonstrate, supervise and participate in activities which enhance the physical, social, emotional and intellectual development of children
  • help children with their academic studies
  • help children to learn social skills
  • help prepare teaching aids, and copy and collate written and printed material
  • distribute and collect lesson material
  • provide home-school liaison and counselling for students and their families
